Nursys e-Notify Terms & Conditions
Please read and certify that you have read these Terms & Conditions, including the Disclaimer of Representations & Warranties, for permission to access the Nursys database and to use the Nursys e-Notify service. If you are an employer of nurses or are using the Nursys database or Nursys e-Notify service for an employment purpose, then you must also certify your compliance with the Fair Credit Reporting Act ("FCRA") below. Here are links to the Terms of Use and the Privacy Statement for National Council of State Boards of Nursing, Inc. (“NCSBN”) websites.
The Nursys nurse licensure and disciplinary database is the repository of the license and disciplinary data of the NCSBN member boards of nursing. NCSBN grants to you a limited, personal, non-exclusive and non-transferable license to access the Nursys database to verify your licensure and disciplinary history for purposes of licensure, endorsement and/or employment. This permission to access is limited and does not permit, or include the right to, any reproduction, reuse, sale or other commercial or derivative use of any Nursys data, except that credentialing agencies and credential verification organizations may individually download and provide Nursys data to institutions as part of legitimate credential verification services. Except for the foregoing sentence, you are prohibited from downloading or copying any data for any third party's use or from accessing the Nursys database with any data mining or automated data gathering or extraction tools.
As part of the registration process, you must select a username and password. You may not (i) use a username of any another person with the intent to impersonate that person, (ii) use a username subject to the rights of any other person without authorization, or (iii) use a username that NCSBN, in its sole discretion, deems offensive. You are responsible for keeping your username and password confidential.
For Institution Accounts Only:
If you are registering your institution, then you are responsible for keeping the user list and their log in credentials up to date in the system. If you are registering your institution, then you are responsible for keeping an accurate and current list of nurses with whom the institution has current affiliations, which includes removing nurses from your institutions affiliated list promptly after ceasing the affiliation. If you are registering yourself individually as a nurse, then you agree and authorize NCSBN to use, or provide to third parties, the workforce related information you provide in the registration for purposes of nursing workforce tracking and research. If you are registering yourself individually as a nurse, then you also agree and authorize NCSBN to provide your contact information to nurse regulatory bodies (i.e., respective boards of nursing). If you are registering yourself individually as a nurse and you opt into the Provider Bridge network, then you agree and authorize NCSBN to provide your name and email address to the Provider Bridge system so you can be contacted to provide healthcare services in cases of pandemic or other emergencies; you may also receive an introductory email and periodic update emails from Provider Bridge.
Notice – Disclaimer of Representations & Warranties
Through a written agreement, participating individual boards of nursing designate Nursys as a primary source equivalent database. NCSBN posts the information in Nursys when, and as, submitted by the individual boards of nursing. NCSBN may not make any changes to the submitted information and disclaims any responsibility to update or verify such information as it is received from the individual boards of nursing. Nursys displays the dates on which a board of nursing updated its information in Nursys.
In order to challenge the content, accuracy or completeness of individual records displayed on Nursys, you may register a challenge by email to NursysSupport@ncsbn.org. Nursys shall promptly forward your challenge to the respective nursing regulatory body (i.e., board of nursing) and that nursing regulatory body will notify you of a resolution.
